Why Ignite

Prepare for the opportunity and for what comes after.

Colleges already invest significantly in aptitude, technical, résumé and interview preparation. Ignite adds a different layer, helping students understand and communicate the person behind the résumé, while beginning to think about what will be expected of them once they enter the professional world.

Placement readiness is the hook. Career readiness is the outcome.

Ignite looks at both sides of the move from college to work: how students prepare to get the opportunity and how they prepare for what comes after.

PLACEMENT READINESS

Get ready to get the opportunity

Students recognise what they bring, support it with real experiences and practise communicating those experiences more effectively during placement conversations.

CAREER READINESS

Get ready for the opportunity

Students explore what the professional world may ask of them and reflect on behaviours such as communication, ownership, initiative, collaboration, adaptability and learning.

ACTION

Make your move

Students identify one area they want to become more ready in, choose one meaningful action and decide when they will take it.

Student Outcomes

Ready for both sides of the transition.

Ignite gives students practical placement value now while helping them recognise what they need to develop for the professional world ahead.

What I bring, with evidence

An evidence-backed example they can draw on in placement conversations rather than relying only on generic claims.

How ready I am for the workplace

A personal reflection on the behaviours and areas of readiness they need to keep developing.

What I will do next

One personally chosen action and a date by which they intend to take it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What colleges usually want to know.

Who is Ignite designed for?

Ignite is designed primarily for pre-final and final-year undergraduate students preparing for placements and the transition into the professional world.

How is Ignite different from placement training?

Placement training develops aptitude, technical, résumé, interview and recruitment skills. Ignite complements this by helping students understand and communicate what they bring with evidence, while also reflecting on the behaviours they will need once they enter the professional world.

Is this career counselling?

No. Ignite does not recommend careers or ask students to choose a direction. It helps them think more deliberately about career readiness and identify one action they can begin now.

How many students can participate?

Ignite is limited to a maximum of 75 students per session so the experience remains genuinely interactive. For larger student cohorts, multiple Ignite sessions can be scheduled.

What does each student leave with?

Each student leaves with an evidence-backed example they can draw on in placement conversations, a personal reflection on career readiness, and one action they choose to take by a date they set for themselves.

What does the college receive after the session?

The institution receives the facilitated experience, structured student output, post-session feedback and a brief outcome snapshot.

Rams founded The Evolve Foundation to help young people develop that self-understanding earlier.
